Newsflash: Motherhood is not measurable, nor is it an end destination
Let’s face it -- we live in a culture that is obsessed with success. Now, that’s not necessarily a bad thing because as badass women, the desire to be successful is what drives us to learn, to take risks, and grow, right?
But when we define success solely by how many hours we put into work, how much we sacrifice ourselves to keep other people happy, or how the ‘shoulds’ mount up and leave us feeling depleted, then “success” is impossible to achieve because we are culturally programmed to want more, and more, and more.
There’s a quote I love from this week's guest, Elisa Fucci, life coach “I love myself, and it’s the most loving thing you can do for yourself and others. You show up differently. You show up as a better wife and mother. When you show up as yourself, you are happier.” And that couldn’t be more true.
That’s why it is incredibly important to define your core values, trust God for your life, and know that the healing work you do now will affect generations to come -- and when you do, you’ll be so much more fulfilled as a mother and as a human being.
I get it -- it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of everyday life. But I’m here to tell you, sweet friend, that success in motherhood is not measurable, nor is it an end destination. I can guarantee that when you define success according to your values, you will find more joy in life than you ever could have imagined -- I know I have!
In this episode, you meet Elisa, that got pregnant when she was a teenager and trusted God that adoption was the right plan for her and her baby. She shares her beautiful journey of defining her values, getting out of suffering, and helping other women do the exact same thing. I promise, after listening to this episode, you will feel -- and truly believe -- that you are incredibly blessed and capable of doing anything that you want to do in your life.
